Half Lira
The Ottoman Gold Coin, often referred to as the ‘Lira’, is the most used gold coin in the Middle East. A coin that carries a deep and rich history from the reign of Abdul Hamid II and Muhammad V in 1909 AD/ 1327 AH. The obverse design depicts the symbol of the Ottoman Sultanate, and the reverse design carries an inscription that reads “May he be victorious”.
The Half Lira is the second size of the 4 different Lira sizes. A smaller and simpler version of the Full Lira, but it still embodies the prestige and the recognised beauty of the Lira for less.

Investment
It has been a long held belief across generations in the Middle East that gold Liras are a great investment whether purchased as jewellery or as sole coins due to their low making charges.
The Half Lira allows you to invest into gold even at a smaller amount making it an ideal and affordable investment choice for everyone. This is also why it is widely used as a gift for newborns, weddings, birthdays or just a gift to show your appreciation.
Jewellery
The popularity of the Lira is in large part due to its use in jewellery. It is seen in all designs and items of jewellery from full sets and bangles to small pendants and earrings.
The Half Lira provides a more subtle yet captivating look. It can be worn as a pendant if you purchase it alongside our Half Lira Frame, or you can customise it (Contact Us) to add a small link which will maintain the simple elegance of the Half Lira whilst still expressing its deep history and worth.
